Parent Code of Conduct

Protecting the Development Environment

Eastside Development Academy is built deliberately.

Small cohorts.
Clear standards.
Calm coaching.

Culture does not protect itself.

It must be reinforced by everyone involved.

This Code of Conduct ensures that the development environment remains stable, respectful, and focused on long-term growth.

Enrollment in EDA signifies agreement to these standards.

1. Respect the Coaching Environment

EDA operates under defined coaching standards.

Parents agree to:

We do not coach through parents.

We coach athletes.

2. No Sideline Instruction

During training sessions:

  • Parents may observe quietly.
  • Parents may not provide verbal instruction.
  • Parents may not correct athletes from the sidelines.

Conflicting instruction creates confusion and undermines development.

Athletes require clarity.

3. Communication Protocol

If a parent has a concern:

  • Wait 24 hours before raising the issue.
  • Submit concerns respectfully via email or scheduled conversation.
  • Avoid addressing concerns in front of athletes.

We respond directly and professionally.

We do not engage in reactive exchanges.

4. Zero Tolerance for Public Confrontation

The following behaviors are not permitted:

  • Confronting coaches during sessions
  • Confronting coaches immediately after sessions
  • Public disputes
  • Raised voices
  • Disrespectful language

Concerns are handled privately and professionally.

Emotional escalation destabilizes the environment.

5. Long-Term Perspective

EDA prioritizes:

  • Foundation
  • Repetition
  • Stability
  • Compounding growth

Parents agree to avoid:

  • Comparison to other athletes
  • Public criticism of other children
  • Status-based discussions
  • Roster politics

We build capability — not hierarchy.

6. Athlete Accountability

Athletes are expected to:

Parents agree to reinforce these standards at home.

Development requires consistency beyond the gym.

7. Social Media Conduct

Parents agree to:

  • Avoid negative commentary about the Academy online
  • Refrain from public comparison of athletes
  • Represent EDA respectfully

If concerns arise, address them directly.

Trust is built through conversation — not commentary.

8. Scholarship Confidentiality

Families receiving financial assistance agree to:

  • Maintain privacy
  • Avoid public discussion of tuition arrangements

Dignity is preserved through discretion.

9. Alignment with Philosophy

Eastside Development Academy is:

  • A development academy
  • Fundamentals-first
  • Calm and structured
  • Long-term oriented

It is not:

  • A travel team
  • A ranking system
  • An exposure platform

Families who enroll acknowledge alignment with this model.

Not every program fits every family.

10. Enforcement

If these standards are violated:

  • A private conversation will occur.
  • A written warning may be issued.
  • Enrollment may be discontinued if behavior persists.

Culture is protected deliberately.

Our Shared Commitment

Children develop best in environments that are:

  • Stable
  • Respectful
  • Structured
  • Predictable

When adults model regulation and composure, athletes internalize it.

We protect the preconditions for growth.

Together.

A Final Note

Eastside Development Academy exists for families who think long-term.

We are building something stable.

And stability requires alignment.
