Operational Standards & Participant Agreement

Eastside Development Academy operates with defined structure.

These policies ensure:

  • Consistency
  • Safety
  • Fairness
  • Stability

Enrollment in EDA signifies agreement to the policies outlined below.

1. Enrollment Policy

EDA operates in structured 12-week development blocks.

  • Enrollment is cohort-based.
  • Cohorts are capped at 12 athletes.
  • Enrollment is confirmed upon payment setup and signed agreement.
  • Placement is based on developmental stage and capacity — not tryouts.

 

EDA reserves the right to deny or discontinue enrollment if alignment is not maintained.

2. Attendance Policy

Consistency drives development.

Athletes are expected to:

  • Arrive on time
  • Attend all scheduled sessions
  • Notify staff in advance of absences

Occasional absences are understood.

Repeated absences may affect cohort placement and development progression.

No make-up sessions are guaranteed.

3. Payment Policy

Tuition is billed monthly via automatic payment.

  • 3-month minimum commitment
  • 30-day written notice required for withdrawal
  • No pro-rated refunds for missed sessions
  • Late payments may result in paused participation

Tuition supports facility rental, insurance, curriculum development, equipment, and program sustainability.

4. Refund Policy

EDA does not offer refunds for:

  • Missed sessions
  • Voluntary withdrawal before the minimum commitment
  • Scheduling conflicts


Refunds may be considered only in cases of:

  • Verified medical injury preventing participation
  • Program cancellation by EDA


All refund determinations are at the discretion of Academy leadership.

5. Behavior Policy (Athletes)

Athletes are expected to:

The following behaviors are not permitted:

  • Bullying
  • Disrespect toward coaches or peers
  • Physical aggression outside of structured drills
  • Intentional disruption


If behavioral concerns arise:

  • A private conversation will occur.
  • Parents will be notified if needed.
  • Continued disruption may result in removal from the program.


EDA prioritizes emotional safety for all athletes.

6. Parent Conduct Policy

Parents agree to:

  • Observe quietly
  • Avoid sideline coaching
  • Address concerns privately
  • Maintain respectful communication


Public confrontation or emotional escalation may result in dismissal from the Academy.

Culture is protected deliberately.

7. Safety & Liability

EDA maintains:

  • General liability insurance
  • Facility safety protocols
  • Emergency contact procedures


Participation in athletics carries inherent risk.

All families must complete:

  • Liability waiver
  • Emergency contact form
  • Medical disclosure form


EDA staff will act responsibly and within professional standards.

8. Facility Policy

Athletes must:

  • Wear appropriate athletic footwear
  • Bring a properly sized basketball
  • Maintain respect for equipment and facility


Damage to facility property caused by negligence may result in financial responsibility.

9. Media & Photography

EDA may capture photo or video for:

  • Program documentation
  • Website and marketing use
  • Internal training review


Families may opt out in writing.

We do not publicly identify scholarship recipients.

10. Weather & Closure Policy

In cases of severe weather or facility closure:

  • Sessions may be rescheduled when possible
  • Notification will be sent via email and text
  • Makeup sessions are not guaranteed

 

Safety decisions are made conservatively.

11. Non-Discrimination Policy

Eastside Development Academy does not discriminate on the basis of:

  • Race
  • Gender
  • Religion
  • National origin
  • Disability

We are committed to equal dignity and access.

12. Policy Amendments

EDA reserves the right to update policies as the organization grows.

Updated policies will be communicated in writing.

Continued participation signifies agreement.
